Late summer Pomegranate Blueberry Smoothie


We’re making use of what the season has on offer, and made this refreshing Pomegranate Blueberry Smoothie as a pick-me-up drink in the office today. It’s full of antioxidants, with just 4 ingredients simple to make, and the honey adds that bit of sweetness to balance the pomegranate’s tartness.

Ingredients (serves 1): 

  • 1/3 cup pomegranate arils
  • 2/3 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2/3 cup low fat plain yoghurt
  • 2 tsp honey


To seed the pomegranate, slice about 1-2 cm from the top of the pomegranate, and remove the lid to expose the seeds. Now slice the fruit down through each of the white membranes inside the pomegranate. Pry the sections apart, and turn it inside out to pop the seeds out into a bowl.

Add all ingredients to the OmniBlend jug, and blend starting on low, and increase to medium until smooth, about 30 seconds.

Our verdict: amazing colour, great creamy texture, and just the right combination of fresh & sweet. A keeper!
